Transforming perinatal experiences through compassionate support, authentic listening, and strengthening person-centered care

Labor of Love is guided by the vision that all people have the agency, support, and resources they need to thrive before, during, and after pregnancy.
Our mission is to support individuals and strengthen systems so that birthing people are heard, supported, and empowered to shape their own birth experiences and stories.

Combining doula support, Preemie Parent Coaching, and health system consulting, Labor of Love aims to transform perinatal experiences through compassionate support, authentic listening, and strengthening person-centered care
Shahla de Leon, founder of Labor of Love is a public health equity leader, doula, and birth justice advocate who believes in birthing that centers dignity, autonomy, power, and joy.
As a doula, parent mentor, and story sharing coach, Shahla supports individuals to navigate and process birthing and postpartum experiences. As a strategic learning consultant, Shahla supports organizations to strengthen their ability to provide responsive, person-centered, equitable perinatal care. Born from the intersection of professional and lived experience, Labor of Love nurtures and supports birthing people and the health systems that serve them.
